Skin pigmentation disorders are conditions that cause the skin to appear lighter or darker than normal, or blotchy and discoloured. They include freckles, melasma, sun spots. Whether you are white or black, we all face skin pigmentation disorders. Skin pigmentation disorders occur because the body produces either too much or too little melanin. Melanin is a pigment found in our body which gives the color of our hair, skin and eye. Melanin protects our body by absorbing the ultraviolet light.
There are products out there in the drugstore that targets skin pigmentation, products that contain hydroquinone. It is the most effective ingredient that helps reduce and eliminate brow skin discolorations known as melasma. If you would like to try some home remedies for skin pigmentation, you may try the following methods. I’ve not tried them personally but they are the few common ones that people have been trying all these while.
5. Guava contains lycopene which is an ingredient that treats the darkening of skin due to sun exposure. Banana contains Vitamin A that gets rid of dark spot and blemish. Mix the guava pulp and banana and apply on the face. Wash off after 15-20 minutes. Doing this every day will remove all kinds of pigmentation.
6. Vinegar has a good astringent properties, that tends to shrink or constrict body tissues. This means that it helps in tightening your skin. It can also control the pigmentation, reducing its severity. Mix the same amount of vinegar with water and wash your face regularly with this. It makes your skin look clear and bright. Do not treat vinegar directly on your face as it is strong and acidic and hence may damage your skin.
7. Mash avocado into paste and apply on the pigmented area. The natural ingredients found in avocadoes provide the benefits for skin rejuvenation and healing.
