According to a survey done in 2014 by STJobs.sg, Only one out of ten people in Singapore claims to be stress-free. It was found that for every person who is stress-free and happy, there are 2.5 persons who feel stressed and 6.5 persons who are neutral (with manageable stress levels) and have work-life balance. Whether we are still schooling, or working in the corporate world, we all (inevitably) face different sets of challenges and demands in life. Such stressful lifestyle has taken its toll on us, that we do not have proper diet and sufficient rest. This causes our body unable to rest, restore and rejuvenate. Before the wrinkles start forming, the face turns flaky and dry, here’s some SOS tips to restoring your skin radiance.

Boost the antioxidants in your body

Differences between sunblock and sunscreen

We all use these two words Sunblock and Sunscreen interchangeably because we thought they are the same. BUT do you know that they are actually different in their functions and purpose? Do you know how to identify the differences between sunblock and sunscreen? While both of them protect you from the damaging UV rays of the sun, sunblock reflects the light from your skin, blocking the rays from entering into your skin whereas sunscreen coats your skin, and acts like a sponge which absorb the UV rays to protect your skin, where it converts into less damaging form of radiation. Sunblock works immediately when you apply on your skin while you will need to apply sunscreen lotion 15-20 minutes before it can actively protect your skin from damage.

Skin pigmentation disorders are conditions that cause the skin to appear lighter or darker than normal, or blotchy and discoloured. They include freckles, melasma, sun spots. Whether you are white or black, we all face skin pigmentation disorders. Skin pigmentation disorders occur because the body produces either too much or too little melanin. Melanin is a pigment found in our body which gives the color of our hair, skin and eye. Melanin protects our body by absorbing the ultraviolet light.

There are products out there in the drugstore that targets skin pigmentation, products that contain hydroquinone. It is the most effective ingredient that helps reduce and eliminate brow skin discolorations known as melasma.  If you would like to try some home remedies for skin pigmentation, you may try the following methods. I’ve not tried them personally but they are the few common ones that people have been trying all these while.
